Our Italian Roast is taken to a very dark roast level, producing a bold and intense cup with a strong aroma and full body. The extended roasting time develops deep, roasted flavors and a smooth, low-acid profile that coffee lovers associate with classic European-style espresso.
The beans develop a dark, glossy appearance as natural oils rise to the surface, creating a powerful brew with lingering depth and character. It’s an excellent choice for espresso, but also makes a rich, robust cup in drip or French press for those who prefer a darker, more intense coffee.
A curious roasting detail: once beans pass the “second crack” in the roaster, the internal cell structure begins breaking down and oils migrate outward. That’s why Italian roast beans look shiny—and why the flavor shifts from origin-driven notes into the realm of pure roasted intensity.
