Tasting Notes: Rich and balanced with hints of brown sugar and smooth caramel sweetness.
Origin: Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda
Altitude: 1500–2000 meters
Process: Washed
Varietals: SL28 & SL14
Grown high in the Rwenzori Mountains of western Uganda, this coffee is produced from 100% Arabica trees cultivated at elevations between 1,500 and 2,000 meters above sea level. The beans are primarily the SL28 and SL14 varieties, known for producing complex and flavorful cups.
The coffee is sourced through the Busongora North Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative, a farmer-owned organization made up of more than 500 local families who contribute as small shareholder members. Each participating farmer is registered and assigned a unique identification number, allowing the coffee to be traced back to the farms where it was grown.
After harvest, the cherries are delivered to nearby washing stations in the Kajole, Kithoma, and Kaswa parishes, where they are carefully sorted and processed using the washed method. Once drying is complete, the coffee is transported to Kasese for dry milling, quality evaluation, and preparation for export.
